Unique Response

Each flood or water damage emergency is a unique situation requiring our experts to assess the situation and determine what is best for your clean-up.  What category water do you have?  How wet is it based on our meter readings? When did it occur?  What secondary damage is possible and can be addresses sooner than later? What secondary and primary safety issues exist with this flooded structure?

The Process

Since each water restoration job is unique, our specific equipment and process may vary from time to time, based on what is best for your property.  However, the below steps will apply for most of our water restoration jobs.

Calling our Emergency Response Team will get you started in the right direction! Don’t wait – call as soon as humanly possible. Remember time is critical when dealing with flooded structures. Our staff will take you through a short list of questions and will not hang out without determining a plan of action to keep the process moving.

Once our technicians arrive, we will immediately begin by ensuring the source of water is or can be stopped right then and there. Next we will assess the damage and any safety concerns your property may pose to our crew as well as to you as occupants. Then we will document the source and damage with photographs and moisture meter readings. The water category and class will also be determined at this time, which will help us to determine the best plan of action for drying your structure.

After our initial inspections, our experts will immediately determine the right plan for your property and communicate that plan to you! You should know every step of the way what is happening, why it’s happening, and the progress of the job. We are here to ensure you get your property back to normal ASAP!

Getting that standing water and non-salvageable building materials out of your property are the initial priorities when the work begins. If this is not done quickly, secondary damage may occur. From our inspections, moisture maps, and meter readings, we will know the exact migration of water through your property, and can use that data to quickly and specifically address the most critical water damage areas of your property.

Once the bulk of the standing water and building materials are removed, we will begin the restorative drying process. This is where all of our fancy equipment comes in handy! We will make specific calculations based on space and class of water damage to determine the amount of equipment as well as the type of equipment to use. Essentially manipulating the temperature and relative humidity to remove all remaining moisture within the building materials of a structure.

This is where most water restoration companies start to tail-off, saying they can do “minor construction” to help you fully restore your property.  But not with Boston Cleaning & Restoration! We have fully licensed in-house general contractors available at the ready! To take, for example, a fully ‘gut’ basement, from start to finish through the re-construction process.  We have in-house employees who are licensed contractors to begin re-building walls, ceilings, stairways, windows, etc. Then comes in the plumbers and electricians. Next is sheetrock installation and finishing/painting.  Then flooring and final interior millwork like doors and trim. And before you know it, you have your basement back!

There may also be secondary issues like odor and deodorization, sanitizing treatments, and contents and furniture cleaning that need to be done as well. We will not leave your property until you are completely satisfied with our FULL restoration!
